In effect we have two sections of river at Straits, section A approximately half a mile inside our compound this forms the lower boundary to our property, with a further half mile section B outside of our fence.
Access is via the main car park in two places down the back path along our fence line, to the top of section A or down the long slope towards the lakes turn left and you will see a gate, walk to the gate on your right is the bottom of section A. Through the gate (club Key required) turn right is the top of section B, alternatively you can park in the small car park at the top of our drive, exit the site turn right and walk down the road to the bottom of section B.
Section A is kept cut with paths and permanent swims all along the river section B we keep wild with just a path cut along the bank when we can you can cut a swim where you want, or just poke a rod through the reeds.
All the normal fish species are present including Carp that have escaped from our lakes a number of years ago the Rudd and Roach fishing is best in the winter as you would expect, and some good quality fish are often caught after a good flush through of rain water, occasionally you may be lucky enough to encounter an elusive brown trout.
Some distance from our car park, on the other side of the lakes. The banks are reasonable in winter, when the fishing is best.
