This was once a prolific dace river, but now only small numbers of these remain. Otter and mink predation has resulted in overall fish stocks being much lower, with small numbers of chub to 3lbs and wild brown trout to 2lbs remaining. It is still worth time when the flow is reasonable and banks are clearer, in Winter. There are three access points from roads, and the stretch includes a weirpool.
The river crosses several roads, where members may park carefully, with short distances to swims. Otherwise the banks are reasonable to walk along.
